The club has about thirty members (at 22 July 04),
with about ten regular attenders at meetings.
There is a committee who organise activities and run the group.
We hope to grow the membership to a viable club
of about 15 or more active members.

Scott Bailey
Scott is the Chairman.
Scott (rightmost in picture) has been making films for twenty years, starting with Cine,
moving to Video8, Hi8 and Mini DV.
His great interest is in re-enactment films and he is currently
working on a mammoth project, re-creating the Battle of Hastings.
This involves thousands of actors and has been in progress for
eighteen months.
The final film will run for seventy five minutes.
He has been assisted by his son (second right in picture) and his friend,
Robert North, who has done everything from actor to stuntman. |

Paul Clarke
Paul is the Treasurer.
His particular movie making interests include filming of
Master Swimmer's Competitions.
He is also interested in local Luton and Dunstable community events.
Most of Paul's films have been targeted at the Internet and employ
streaming video at 160 by 120 pixels, a tiny picture.
Recent developments in Broadband have allowed him to make his
video available via the Eastern Region Broadband Consortium's
web site at 320 by 240 pixels and 15 frames/second and which
are viewable in full-screen.
He is a relative beginner at mini DV quality work.
Paul runs the local
L&D Community Network (LDCN),
which is capable of
transmitting video from home to home within the local area using
computers and wireless technology.
He has built up a library of digital video of local interest,
which is available on the network and is comparable to TV or VHS
in quality. |

Daniel Bailey
Daniel is the Junior Representative on the Committee. |

Wayne Johnson
Wayne (centre in top picture) is relatively new to filming and digital editing.
He has produced his own films using VHS/C and a computer based
editing system and has helped in the production of many other
short films.
He produces holiday films, films about events in Dunstable and
films about the group of friends with whom he lives.
He has been on the Voluntary Action Luton, Video Editing Course.

Tony Coutinho
Made some holiday films using 8mm Cine during 1966-1968 and has been working
on these after they were converted to digital. The films include his
visits to New York, Washington, Niagara Falls, Alberqueque and Golden Arrow to Rome,
as well as his
early days in Liverpool and student days in Leicester.
He has acted in the club film "Sympathy". He interviewed the
Leader of the Luton Borough Council as part of our contribution to
"The Way We Are" for Anglia Television, 2004. |

Sue Clarke
Sue is a keen photographer and gardener. Has used a VHS camcorder to make films,
including one on the National Rose Society's gardens at St. Albans. Now has
a digital camcorder. First film using this was about the Highland
Gathering at Harpenden.
She filmed the Luton Parks as part of our contribution to "The Way We Are"
for Anglia Television, 2004. |

Pearl Nuworgah
Has a particular interest in animation and has given us talks on the
subject.
She runs the group "Kidz 'n' Computers"
which teaches animation to youngsters.

Frank McPartland Frank has recently made his first film, a thriller
about the fears of an elderly man become reality -
poses questions for us all about appropriate response. |

Peter Brown
Peter runs art classes at the Sundon Park Community Centre where
we hold our meetings.
He saw our notice there and has joined us for several meetings.
He has taken films on his camcorder and has a computer capable of
processing them.
He just needs a bit of help to get him going. |

Pat Shane
Pat is the Chairman of the Trust that runs the Sundon Park Community
Centre where we hold our meetings.
He takes his own films and has a collection of 8mm Cine films,
but has yet to do any form of digital editing. |
He supports the Movie Makers group, which is a part of the trust and
contributes to it.

Robert North
Has acted in many of the Scott Bailey films over the last 20 years.
He has also acted (as the policeman) in our 2004 Triangle Competition
entry "The Great Strain Robbery". |

Dean Khwaja
Is a student. Together with Umar and Azar,
he filmed the Downs and countyside surrounding Luton as part of our

Gary McDonald
Gary has interests in filming weddings, concerts such as those given
by local choirs, parties, interviews, documentaries and
special interest videos.
He has a wide range of conversion equipment for converting video
from one format to another, including 8mm, Hi8, Digital 8, Mini DV,
DV, DVCAM, VHS/C, VHS, SVHS.
He enjoys making films of his own children to give them something
to remind them of their youth. He gave our group a talk on using
sound in films. |

Has been writing a book for the last few years. He has ideas for films
and went on the Luton Lives (now Voluntary Action Luton),
Video Editing Course. |

Abbey K Mirza
Abbey is a musician and singer. He appears, as the singer in our Indian
pop video "Osay Milneka Asira", 2004. |

Sylvester Jacobs
Slyvester is a teacher and runs a "juniors" film making club.
He made two films, "An Angel in Ebony" and "Westmill" (about a Community Group)
for our Triangle Competition entries in 2004.

Michael Carway
So far, Michael has only produced one film, using a borrowed VHS/C
camcorder and a little bit of help from the club.
It was about a holiday in County Sligo, from where his family
originated.
At our meetings, we edited the film digitally and Michael
supplied the voice-overs. |

Grace Froggatt
Has been script writing. Her film is to be based on holiday experiences
in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. She has acted in several club films
including "The Happy Old Man", "Mescafe" and "Sympathy". She filmed the
Leader of the Luton Borough Council as part of our contribution to
"The Way We Are" for Anglia Television, 2004. |

Is passionate about martial arts and is planning to make a film around
that interest. |

Victoria Hayford
Has worked in the industry for Channel 4 and for BFI. She acted in the club
film "Global Warming" which was entered in the Enfield Shield Competition.

Tarsem has made several films relating to his Indian culture.
