Project Requirements 1

If your project….

* Adds a new artistic dimension to the work you are already doing. For instance, by extending the range and/or level of skills and knowledge of your group or by increasing access and participation to your group’s activities or by working alongside other artists or art forms creating new collaborations.

* Is addressing a genuine proven need, or existing lack of provision.

* Can demonstrate a longer term benefit to your group and to arts development in Luton

* Does not duplicate work already being undertaken by another group or organisation in the Town

* Takes place within the Borough of Luton

* Will be completed within one year of the award being made

* The outcome of your project will take place in Luton for the enrichment of Luton’s Art and Cultural Scene

* Your project has a Olympic Theme

• Encourage audience participation.

• Make public spaces exciting through street theatre, public art, circus skills and live big screen sites.

• Raise environmental sustainability, health and well-being issues through culture and sport.

• Honour and share the values of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

• Create unique collaborations and innovations between communities and cultural sectors.

• Support the learning, skills and personal development of (young) people through links to our education programme.

In many cases, we hope to enlist the parents/guardians or "best friends"of the (potential) Olympians to do the filming as volunteers.

We will try to obtain Coaches (who are aware of technical sports aspects)

In other cases, we will try to obtain former Olympians in the same or similar discipline to do the filming as volunteers.

Like a TV shop with TVs all round / Like an aquarium.

All screens silent with subtitles except one (large/projected)

Short movies on each screen - playing continuously

Each screen could cover a theme for 1 hour+ (see below)

Locations: Hat Factory, Discovery Centre, "Empty Spaces"

Free Access. Expect thousands of viewers.
